Great news! Southwest Bicycle is now a Norco dealer. Norco has over 126 models of bikes. I think we can find one that will work for you! Along with Norco, comes Viva bikes from Denmark, Axiom bags and racks and Adams as in Adams Trail-a-Bikes and "run" bikes to teach toddlers to ride without ever needing training wheels.

People ride bikes for many different reasons. When you come to Southwest Bicycle to get a bike serviced, a part, accessory, custom wheels, a new or used bike or just advice, my goal is to help make your cycling experience the best possible for your individual purposes or to make your bike work as well as it was designed to and in many cases better than when it was new. If you are an all weather commuter, racer or just looking to get started cycling for fitness, we've been there. We have parts and accessories for all kinds of bikes. We have fenders, lights, helmets, raingear, maintenance parts and most everything else for bikes and riders. If we don't have it, we can probably get it.

***MINI BIO***

The first thing I wanted to do with my first used Stingray was take it apart and paint it. Then I started emulating Evel Knievel by building ever more dangerous ramps. Sometimes with friends and relatives lying on the ground between them. Mind you, helmets or protective gear of any kind was unheard of in those days. I competed in my first competitive cycling event, a time trial, in 1974 at the age of 14. over the next 30 years I raced BMX, road, track, MTB and cyclocross. I have also been on lengthy cycle tours and commuted by bicycle in all kinds of weather including hail, freezing rain, ice and snow.

I have been building custom wheels since 1978, worked as a mechanic in three well known bike stores and was service manager at one store for 13 years. I work neutral service at national and local races including Cascade Cycling Classic, Mt Hood Stage Race and Elkhorn. I have been mechanic for professional cycling teams in charge of maintaining team vehicals, bikes, parts inventory, getting it all to the race on time in top condition and then riding in the team car with spare wheels, bikes and water. I have worked at most NRC races all over the United States including "Philly week", San Francisco Grand Prix, Sea Otter and one time, even Vuelta Cyclista El Salvador. I have assembled, washed and tuned bikes in host garages, back alleys, hotel parking lots and on the street out the back of the truck in good weather and bad. I have even made adjustments leaning out the window of a car at 25 mph on a gravel road.

I have worked in wholesale, retail and on the road with the pros.

Check this out: I put a link to a map here. If you use the "grab" function on Mapquest and put the red star in the lower right corner, the Alpenrose velodrome will be in the upper left corner. Cool, huh?
